National park Vransko jezero (Vransko lake)

National Park Vransko Jezero, located near Croatia's Dalmatian coast, is the largest natural lake in the country. This unique body of water is a haven for nature lovers, especially birdwatchers. Vransko Jezero is a designated ornithological reserve, meaning it's a protected area for birds. With over 250 species recorded, including endangered ones like the purple heron and pygmy cormorant, the lake is a birdwatcher's dream. Also, the brackish water of the lake (a mix of fresh and saltwater) creates a habitat for a variety of plant and animal life.
